The much-anticipated redevelopment works at DOOLEYS Lidcombe begin as Phase 1 of the Club renovation and expansion gets underway.

The redevelopment is an extensive expansion and renovation of DOOLEYS Lidcombe which will transform the Club into a leading leisure and hospitality destination in Western Sydney.

Transformation works will be conducted in numerous stages over the next three years, commencing in July 2022. Over the coming months, Members will see a range of building works carried out on the ground floor at Lidcombe which include:

Lloyds Bistro and Children’s Play Area – Relocation

In preparation for the upcoming development works, Lloyds Bistro, The Children’s Play Area, and Three Lanterns Bar final day of trade on the ground floor at Lidcombe will be Sunday 26 June 2022. From Monday 27 June 2022, Lloyds Bistro and The Children’s Play Area will be relocated and fully operational in The Upper Quarter on Level 1. From early July 2022, builder ADCO Constructions, will erect a new internal acoustic hoarding to secure the existing Bistro area which will be stripped ready for refurbishment. All other eateries and destinations on the ground floor will remain open. Members can continue to enjoy the existing Members Lounge, John Street Café, BAILEYS Sports Bar, and all gaming areas as normal for the time being. Church and John Street receptions will also remain fully operational for the time being.

The Upper Quarter – Reopens

From Monday 27 June 2022, Lloyds Bistro, a Café option, a Members Lounge with keno and TAB facilities, and a new Children’s Play Area which includes a parent room, will be available in The Upper Quarter on Level 1. Operating hours of The Upper Quarter are Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 10:00pm, and 9:00am – 10:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Lloyds Bistro dining hours in The Upper Quarter are unchanged with all Member favourites available in the new location on Level 1 from Monday 27 June 2022.

Club Expansion

Externally, Members will see a range of activity, including the demolition of the John Street shopfronts and the set-up of a construction compound on the vacant land between Board & Ann St. Members will also witness the erection of external hoarding which will be installed along John Street and wrapped around Board Street to secure the boundary of the shopfront demolition.

The demolition phase will end in September 2022, facilitating the start of the main works in October 2022 with excavation work on the new basement car park.

During the construction period, which will extend into 2025, more information will be available on the DOOLEYS Future Facilities website. We aim to keep disruption to a minimum and inevitably there will be some noticeable impacts. We thank Members for their patience during the construction period.
