A New Era for Our Club

We are excited to bring you the latest update on the redevelopment works at Lidcombe, as we enter into one of the most exciting phases of the project yet – delivery!

Your support and patience have been instrumental over recent years, and we are thrilled to share the latest milestones and what’s ahead this quarter.

New Destinations Unveiled

Sidelines Sports Lounge

September marks the highly anticipated opening of the Sidelines Sports Lounge, a purpose-built destination for sports enthusiasts as we redefine how our members experience live sports at DOOLEYS. This flagship venue will feature:

Immersive Viewing: Over 7+ meters of large-format LED screens and premium audio, broadcasting multiple events simultaneously.
Flexible Social Spaces: Layouts that balance group interaction with individual comfort, supporting both intimate gatherings and large group bookings.
Year-Round Activation: Themed match days, pay-per-view events, and major game day activity.
Contemporary Design: A dark, edgy aesthetic with dark wood, leather, exposed brick, and sports memorabilia, creating an authentic yet modern sports bar ambiance.

Sidelines Sports Lounge will be the perfect destination for sports fans, social groups, and event visitors from the Lidcombe–Parramatta–Olympic Park corridor, serving as a natural meeting point for Sydney Olympic Park events or friends visiting Lidcombe.

Main Bar Transformation

Launching alongside the new Sidelines Sports Lounge is the new Main Bar which will serve as the central service hub on the ground floor as part of DOOLEYS new food and beverage precinct. The Main Bar is designed to elevate the member experience delivering five-star service standards complemented by a beautiful new contemporary design with premium finishes. The Main Bar will provide all your beverage needs as you frequent the new adjacent destinations.

John Street Reception

Our new John Street Reception will also be unveiled this spring and become one the club’s signature entry points. The reception will be a grand, light-filled space featuring a dramatic staircase, gold and timber accents, and intuitive navigation to help you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The reception will be fully operational from day one, ensuring a smooth transition and enhanced member experience.

Transitional Spaces

During this period when new spaces are being completed, the ground floor will enter a transitional phase as several existing destinations are handed over to the builders to progress works in other areas. In September the John St Café on the ground floor, along with the Baileys Sports Bar and Lounge, will be handed over to the builders. Subsequently in October, the existing Church St Reception and Phoenix Room will close to make way for a new temporary Church St Reception which will be conveniently delivered with entry via the existing main car park, while refurbished works proceed in these spaces.

What’s Next: Looking Ahead to 2027

The redevelopment is on track for completion in 2027, with even more exciting destinations on the horizon:

Encore Members Lounge, Aroma Café, Oasis Buffet: Set to open by the end of 2026.
Functions & Events Centre, 8 Dragons Yum Cha, Playtopia Kids Space, new Church Street Reception and Phoenix Room: Coming in 2027.
Additional on-grade car park will also be available via Anne St in the new year.

Each new opening is carefully staged to maximise member comfort and safety, ensuring you can enjoy refreshed facilities as soon as possible.
