Transforming Your Club

The demolition of the Club’s John St shops and the former Three Lanterns Bar at our Lidcombe site was completed in October 2022 ahead of schedule, with minimal disruption to Members and the local community.

This was a challenging demolition project in a live environment, directly abutting John St. The works were completed without issue however and well managed by ADCO Construction.

These works have paved the way for further geotechnical investigations and the finalisation of the technical design phase of the project.

The relocation of the Children’s Play Area into a dedicated new play space in the former John Meaney Room was also finished in October 2022. The project has created additional seating in The Upper Quarter as well as a fantastic new space for parents and young children.

The new Kids Quarter is open daily until 10:00pm on level 1 at Lidcombe and has two sections: one for the younger kids and a second larger climbing play area. The equipment is designed for those aged 3 – 12 years. There is plenty of room for prams and a parent room at hand for all your needs. The Lloyds bistro menu is also available in the Kids Quarter during Lloyds Bistro operating hours.

As 2022 draws to a close the procurement process for the expansion and refurbishment of the Club will continue, with targeted commencement of the main works, during the first quarter of 2023.

Works will begin with the excavation of the new Board Street basement car park followed by the construction of the new structure which will form the expansion of the Club towards the corner of Board & John St.

Disruption in 2022 was kept to a minimum, and initiatives including The Upper Quarter and Baileys Sports Bar have been completed in readiness for increased construction activity in 2023 and 2024. These areas will form the hub of the Club over the coming years whilst the renovations in the northern part of the Club are underway.

Members will certainly see increased construction activity in the New Year, and we thank you for your patience. The end product will certainly be worth the interruption. We are extremely excited at the prospect of delivering what will become a leading premium entertainment destination in Western Sydney here at DOOLEYS Lidcombe Catholic Club.

As 2023 progresses, sneak previews of the new venues within the Lidcombe site will be available to view on the website, as well as insights into the construction process and the team charged with making our dream a reality.
